What is a Podiatrist ?

A podiatrist is a medical specialist trained to holistically assess, diagnose and treat conditions of the lower limb. This includes problems involving the feet, ankle and hip.

Our aim is to provide effective pain relief through paliative means, minor surgery or through the prescription of custom designed orthoses. Podiatrists are also crucial members of the multidisciplinary team, who provide preventative care and management to patients with conditions such as Diabetes and Arthritis.

We are able to recognise systemic medical conditions in patients where manifestation of the condition first occurs in the foot. Podiatrists also help to improve the mobility, independence and quality of life for their patients.
